Food is something that brings the world together. Each culture has its own traditions and favorite foods. As a self proclaimed foodie, I was so excited to try cuisines in the countries they originated in. During my travels, I have discovered and will undoubtedly continue to discover culinary treasures around the globe. I am honored to share with you, My Elephant Tribe, the amazing meals I have enjoyed throughout the world.
Day 81: Japan
This morning we started our day with travel planning at Starbucks. Its raining again. I’m feeling a little better, but still not 100%. Green tea lattes have certainly helped with the sore throat. After several hours of planning we went in search of food. I am so confused by hours of operation. Google and signs say that all of the restaurants we wanted to try were open, but when we arrived they were actually closed. We ended up at a random ramen restaurant that was good. It was no Ichiran, but it was good.
Today was a lot of walking in circles. After we ate, we went window shopping in Dotonbori and headed to another Starbucks for awhile. I wanted to keep today very low key so that I could rest a bit.
Before heading back to our apartment we stopped to get some curry at the same place we went to the other day. Even though we went earlier than the other day, we still missed out on the special curry of the week. I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
I am now going to bed early so that I can hopefully wake up feeling better.
