Amsterdam Dreams

Day 110:  Poland & ?

I get to see Brian today!!!!

I started my day by packing my stuff.  Today is a travel day.  I called an Uber and headed to the airport.  When I arrived, I was immediately confused.  There were different numbered counters.  None of which had airline names listed anywhere.  It took me awhile to find the board with your flight information that instructed as to which counter was for your flights checkin.  When I finally found the line for my flight, I was ready to get rid of my bags and head to my gate.

I was early and hadn’t eaten, so I went to the only restaurant in the terminal.  It was a very confusing set up.  No one was there to guide you.  You had to wait to be seated or order to go at the counter, but no one was there to tell you that.  When I finally got someone’s attention, I was seated and brought my order pretty quickly.  For being airport food, the pierogis I ordered were not that bad.  These will be my last pierogis for awhile.

When I made it back to my gate, I was told that my flight was delayed. I was nervous that I wouldn’t make my connecting flight as my layover was pretty short to begin with.  I hadn’t yet gone through immigration to exit the country and was concerned that I would need to once I landed in Warsaw.  I was not looking forward to it and was confused by the whole system.

The flight was pretty quick, less than an hour.  I was surprised that I did not have to go through immigration.  I made my connecting flight with ease as it was delayed as well.  I was excited when we finally boarded.  I get to see Brian and I get to spend a few days in Amsterdam.  It doesn’t get much better.

Brian had told me that when he got a cab to take him to our apartment it was a Tesla.  I so badly wanted a Tesla taxi.  However, I guess my intention wasn’t strong enough or I didn’t believe it enough because it was not a Tesla.  In fact, it wasn’t even a cool BMW or Mercedes.  It didn’t really matter.  It got me to our apartment without issue.

Brian greeted me at the door and gave me a tour of our cute apartment.  It was three stories, but very nice.  I dropped my bags off and we immediately went in search of dinner because we were both starving.  We found a Brazilian restaurant around the corner where I ordered some fajitas and Brian got the short ribs.  They were delicious.  One of the most flavorful meals we have had so far.

By the time we returned to the apartment it was after 10pm.  I was tired from traveling all day and we decided to got to bed.  I had trouble falling asleep.  We couldn’t figure out how to use the A/C and it was really hot in the apartment.
